Summary: Lesotho

The Mines and Minerals Act 4 of 2005 regulates all aspects of prospecting and exploitation of minerals in Lesotho. There is an amendment known as the Mines and Minerals Amendment Act of 2014. The law is not available on any official website of the government. The official version of the primary law is in English and there are no official translations of this law into other languages. The government regulating entity is the Ministry of Mining (www.gov.ls/mining/). The country's mining contracts are not available at resourcecontracts.org.
